Oh My DIY: Chunky T-Shirt Bracelet

28 Apr

Reuse. Repurpose. Recycle. Turn an old tee into a cute one-of-a-kind bracelet to add to your arm party.

What you’ll need:

  • An old shirt (cotton jersey works best)
  • scissors
  • needle and thread
  1. Cut three equal strips of your shirt, each about an inch wide.
  2. Stretch out each strip.
  3. Sew the ends of your strips to bind them all together. Tape down strips to start.
  4. Braid the strips just the same way you would braid your hair.
  5. Stop when you reach the desired length. Sew the ends of your strips again to keep the braid from unraveling.
  6. Cut out a small rectangular piece from your leftover shirt.
  7. Use the rectangular piece to cover and join the ends. Sew in place.

Tip: Be creative! You can brighten up your bracelet using dye. You can also make it a hairband.
